A bit about Rhona

I have just graduated with a high 2:1 in MA Social Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh. I'm currently undertaking an MSc also in Social Anthropology at the University of Aberdeen before starting a three year PhD. I received all A's during my time as a student, taking a particular interest in humanities and I have loved applying my knowledge into engaging lessons for my students. I have formed a solid understanding of each subject and the transferable tools you can master to achieve your best grade. I have chosen to stay in academia due to the love I have for learning and understanding. It's my goal as a tutor to help students gain this same level of appreciation for learning. With a keen attention to detail and particular skill in essay writing, I'm confident that I can help each student produce the best results that they can and gain a newfound appreciation for the subject, whether that be Modern Studies, History or Politics. I also offer personal statement tutoring for students applying to University.

How does Rhona run their lessons?

Each student is different and I'm dedicated to taking the time to understand every students learning style in order to find a way to best help them learn and understand topic material - at any level. Furthermore, it's important to understand each student as an individual and built up a level of trust that allows them to feel comfortable sharing their strengths and weaknesses. Having recently finished school, I'm empathetic that school does not 'work' for everyone and many students need extra help and support to achieve the grades that they are capable of. This means that I'm well suited to tending to the emotional and academic needs to students, leading to a comfortable environment to learn in.
